There are two ways to review a failure, and they feel almost identical from the inside. One asks what went wrong; the other asks what is wrong with me. The first produces lessons. The second produces shame, and shame teaches almost nothing — it just makes the next attempt harder to start. Learning from failure means deliberately choosing the first question.
