Nonviolence As A Daily Practice

For many of us, ahimsa first shows up on the plate: a decision about what we will and will not eat. That decision matters, and it is also a beginning rather than an end. Nonviolence is a way of moving through a whole day — how we speak in a tense meeting, how we drive, how we talk to ourselves when we fall short. The plate teaches the principle; the rest of life is where it gets practiced.
