Finding Flow In Ordinary Activities
Listen
11 min
Flow is the state where action and awareness merge — the chopping, the kneading, the walking becomes the whole of experience, and the usual commentary about the self goes quiet. It is often described through athletes and artists, but the state itself is democratic: it arises wherever a task absorbs full attention at the right level of challenge. For most of us that means it is available in the kitchen, the garden, and the everyday work of our hands, not only in rare peak moments.
