Reciprocity With The Living Land

Across many earth-based and Indigenous traditions runs a shared conviction: the land is not a warehouse of resources but a community of living beings to whom humans owe respect and return. These traditions are many and distinct — each nation and people holds its own teachings, some of them not for outsiders — so what follows speaks only in general terms, about widely shared themes that anyone can learn from without borrowing what is not theirs to take.
